This page converts a PNG to JPG on your device. PNG is often large because it is lossless; JPG is smaller and opens almost everywhere, which suits forms, email, and print shops. Choose your PNG, the workbench re-encodes it as JPG, and you compare the two before downloading. The file stays in this browser tab and is never uploaded. If the PNG has transparent areas, read the note below before you rely on the result.
- Output: lossy. JPG discards some detail to shrink the file; the PNG source was lossless, so the trade becomes visible at high zoom.
- Transparency: JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent PNG areas are filled with a white background.
- Animation: only the first frame of an animated PNG is converted; JPG is a still image.
- Metadata: re-encoding removes the original metadata from the exported file.
- Quality control: the output uses a fixed quality and the original dimensions; check the preview and the download size.
