This page converts a WebP image to PNG on your device. PNG is lossless and widely supported, which helps when software refuses WebP or you need a lossless container. Choose your WebP file, the workbench re-encodes it as PNG, and you compare the two before downloading. Nothing is uploaded; the work runs in this browser tab. If the WebP is animated, only the first frame is used, so check the note below before you rely on the result.
- Output: lossless. PNG keeps the pixels as decoded; it cannot restore detail the source WebP had already dropped.
- Transparency: WebP transparency is preserved, because PNG also carries an alpha channel.
- Animation: only the first frame of an animated WebP is converted; the PNG here is a single still image.
- Metadata: re-encoding removes the original metadata, because the browser writes a fresh PNG.
- Quality control: a lossless PNG has no quality dial; the output keeps your dimensions and is usually larger than the WebP.
